Tonebone
receives the 'Guitarist Choice' award!
By
Guitarist staff writers
"The
Tonebone Classic offers easily the most comprehensive
palette of tones of all units here" "..we
heartily recommend the Classic on the basis
that it's by far the most versatile of all
five pedals reviewed... name almost any player
and their trademark drive tone is locatable
here; rock tones are a given, but the strident
'Fendery' SRV lead tone? Oh yes."

through the FX loops as it does when you are
playing directly into your amp with no pedals.
...the more I used the Loopbone, the

Eric Johnson is fond of this pedal, and
understandably so,. Plugging in my Strat,
I was easily able to emulate Johnson's 400lb
violin tone by switching in the 7dB mid-boost...
"... "For sheer versatility as
well as well as quality distortion, the

'Radial
Tonebone Trimode''
By
Adran Clark
"Adding the various EQ options opens
up a huge range of tones – more than
you'd imagine would be possible" ...
"Even at the middle setting on the drive
gain switch, there's plenty of gain available
for most rock and blues purposes; pushing
the switch up to the highest position makes
for a lovely, thick, saturated distortion."
... "The price isn't the lowest... but
it's not unreasonable ... in this case you
really do get what you pay for."
Awarded five
stars out of five for sound.

'Switcher's
Paradise-- Radial Cabbone, Headbone and Loopbone
add incomparable versatility'
By
Bob Tekippe
"This go-round with
the Radial 'Bone' pedals reinforced what we
found in our previous tests; they deliver
as promised, giving a player extremely usable
switching and effects options that simply
haven't been previously available. By combining
the Loopbone with either the Cabbone or Headbone,
the options are numerous. Giving your rig
the ability to achieve the perfect amp and
efffects setup, as these pedals do so well,
is priceless."

tonal variations this pedal produces is
unbelievable." Hot British™..."Wow!
Talk about British Tone! We easily dialed
in the famous Cream-era Clapton sounds,
to a tee.... If you want to capture that
'British tone' you'll not find a better
pedal!" Switchbone™..."We
were able to switch between amps with no
ground loops or hum. We tweaked the Drag
control, and were pleased to hear it deliver
as promised... this could well be the best
A / B pedal on the market."

'A
More Authentic Playing Experience'
(Switchbone & Dragster)
By
Mats Nermark
"...
A guitar signal with high impedance doesn't
go too well with the input on a sound card
or a mixer that has high impedance - the purpose
of the Dragster is to provide the guitar with
an input it “likes” before the
signal goes on to a wireless system. I connected
the Dragster between my guitar and my DI-box
and got both better sound and playing feel
when using Sek'd Amplitude and such like.
I also noticed improvement with the Dragster
in front of a Boss GS-10 and PODxt. Not the
least when playing electric bass.."...
" The Switchbone has a Dragster circuit
built in if you want it all in one package.
A Dragster is recommended to all users of
digital modelers.

'Radial
Engineering Bassbone - Smart Solutionsw with
the Bassbone'
By
Av Lars Arvidsson
"...
The channel switching feature is good but
the really smart thing is the boost switch.
A switch marked 'Boost Assign' lets you choose
the bosst switch action. your choices are
Boost, loop or Both. If you, like me, enjoy
pedals the loop will be of good use. the bassbone
cna act as a master switch for a chain of
pedals. The whole caboodle cna be sitched
in or out with a sigle step. Very practical!"

'Radial
Tonebone'
By
Mats Nermark
"...
What seems to be the hardest thing for a pedal
generating lots of distortion is to let the
intrinsic qualities of the guitar shine through.
This is something both these Tonebones handle
with excellence. I tried with a good Stratocaster
and then with a cheap Chinese Squier Strat
with cheap pickups. The Chinese Strat sounded
considerably cheaper. The good Strat on the
other hand, sounded really expensive."
... without doubt, at the top end of the value
for money scale. It makes me very happy when
pedals like these Tonebones come along with
a vast soundscape and I get enticed into growing
as a guitarist."

'Radial
Tonebone Bassbone'
By
Eric Murray
"The
Bassbone is much more than a straightforward
A/B box ... the DI, which inherits technology
from Radial's renowned line of standalone
direct boxes, sounded thick and warm in my
home studio.
The potent EQ was a great tone sculptor particularly
with passive or frettless instruments..."
... "The Bassbone offers an extraordinarily
useful combination of features for a modest
price" ... Anyone who uses more then
one bass at a gig ought to check this out.
It could easily become standard gear for many
performing bassists.

GUITAR
WORLD magazine (Oct 2003 -

'Rad
to the Bone -- Radial Tonebone Classic and
Hot British distortion pedals'
By
Eric Kirkland
"Low
gain settings produced incredible blues drive
and a warm tube grind that was easily controlled
with the guitar's volume. With the gain increased,
the top end set to bright and the filter tweaked
for natural treble, I was able to mimic Jimi
Hendrix's untamed Monterey Pop distortion.
Dimming the drive, backing off the filter
and dialing up the level evoked the violin-like
tones of Eric Johnson. This is simply the
finest American-style distortion pedal I've
played."
