"The Radial Switchbone sounds great!
It is the best AB-Y box that I have used
and the transformer isolation makes it easy
to combine any two amps without noise."
~ Allan Holdsworth
A pioneer
of jazz-influenced metal-fusion rock and
one of the most influential artists in the
evolution of the electric guitar, Allan
Holdsworth has been described as "the
guitarist's guitarist". His efficient,
mathematical approach to the frettboard
resulted in riffs that sounded more like
the saxophone solos of Wayne Shorter and
John Coltrane than the guitar playing of
the day. In 1968, while a member of the
group Blue Mink, Holdsworth played the wailing
lead guitar part on the Donovan hit single
'Hurdy Gurdy Man'. Holdsworth has since
recorded or toured with the avant-garde
fusion-rock group 'Gong', jazz-rock violinist
Jean Luc Ponty, Yes and King Crimson drummer
Bill Bruford, the all-star progressive rock
quartet 'UK'. 'Tony Williams Lifetime',
'Soft Machine' and 'IOU'. Holdsworth's compositions
vary in musical style from the progressive
fusion jazz of Soft Machine to the chordal
spacey synth-axe works of 'Atavachron'.

"The Switchbone assures that both amps are properly grounded AND in phase... it sounds better than any other AB-Y box I've ever heard. The variable boost sounds great – a godsend to have on board... This pedal is a complete winner."
~ Lyle Workman
California born and raised, Lyle learned guitar from his dad and developing his ear by teaching himself to play Beatles songs and pop music from the radio, emulating artists like Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee and Pete Townshend. In the eighties, Lyle co-wrote and recorded the hit "I Don't Mind at All" with Bourgeois Tagg and recorded and toured with Todd Rundgren’s band. Lyle's first solo release, 'Purple Passages' received international acclaim as "possibly the best guitar album of the year" by Guitar Shop Magazine. Lyle hooked up with the group Jellyfish, and later with with ex-Pixies frontman Frank Black in 'Frank Black and the Catholics'. Jazz great Tony Williams brought Lyle into the studio to record one of Lyle’s pieces for his CD, 'Wilderness'. Lyle finished his second instrumental project 'Tabula Rasa' and began a stint back on stage playing guitar with pop artist Beck.

"For me, the key to a great pedal is it's ability to be transparent when not engaged. The Switchbone gives my rig plenty of options when called upon, but also stays out of the way when not! The Switchbone is amazing! " ~
Johnny A
For Johnny A, the guitar has held a lifelong fascination since the first time he held one. Johnny is widely regarded as one of America's finest contemporary guitarists, having studied at Boston's Berklee School of Music and played with artists like Derek and the Dominos keyboardist Bobby Whitlock and legendary J. Geils Band front man Peter Wolf for seven years. The Gibson Guitar Company recognized Johnny's talents, endorsing his career and creating a 'Johhny A' signature guitar. A solo instrumental guitar album 'Sometime Tuesday Morning' became a surprise hit which caught the attention of Steve Vai's Favored Nations label. Steve promptly signed Johnny to a distribution deal which then led to an ever-widening circle of high-prestige gigs with the likes of B.B. King, Robert Cray, and Jeff Beck plus an appearance at Eric Clapton's 'Crossroads Guitar Festival' in 2004.

"The Tonebone JX2 Switchbone is simply the best AB-Y box I have ever used - silent, transparent and superbly crafted. The Drag load correction control means you can ACTUALLY control the transparency of the unit, while the built-in boost guarantees your solos are no longer dependent on the soundman." ~
Doug Doppler
Relentless, innovative, inspiring, and hip; GIT graduate (and faculty member) Doug Doppler blasts off into a new sonic dimension with 'Doppler, Inc.' on the Favoured Nations label. With his 'Nu-Instrumetal' CD release Doug bridges the gaps between 'nu-metal' bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Saliva, old-school metal acts like Metallica and Exodus and instrumental artists like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Doug, a protégé of Joe Satriani, has also incorporated his considerable teaching skills (Satriani himself handed his teaching duties over to him) into a finely crafted Guitar instructional DVD series '411'.
